STORYLINES:

(1) Will Ospreay, Matthews

-Will Ospreay defeats Matthews.

-Post match, Ospreay puts Matthews and Brodie King over, says they can stand on their own, and offers his friendship if Matthews ever needs someone to stand by his side.

⭐️Vlad: Why does every match have to be like this for Ospreay? Dude actually thinks he's a good wrestler.

He has no idea what makes a wrestler. Anyways I'm sick of this guy and not understanding a word he's saying. He's giving advice to Matthews? Matthews been to the big time. where has Willy boy been? to Tokyo?! Go back to Tokyo, bitch… I'm coming in hot for Dynamite opening match.

⭐️Kayhan: I’m honestly leaning toward giving this a bad rating as well. Ospreay is one of your top guys. It’s kind of a waste not to save him for big matches. Not for opening cold matches with underutilized talent. But i’ll be nice and not take off points for this.

(2) Private Party, Hurt Syndicate, Mark Briscoe

-Hurt Syndicate interrupt a Private Party celebration, at first acting like friends before making clear intentions to challenge for tag titles.

-Lashley defeats Mark Briscoe.

-Post match, Hurt Syndicate attack Mark Briscoe. Private Party run down with steel chairs to make the save. Hurt Syndicate reluctantly powder out.

⭐️Kayhan: Isiah Kassidy has always amused me. I thought his personality was a highlight of this segment. And Lashley not drinking was so apropos. He’s serious and ready to kick ass, not get drunk with some goofballs. I think this was good for Private Party. Standing up to the Hurt Syndicate is pretty bad ass, even though they ran in with steel chairs. 

⭐️Vlad: I liked the segment with Private party, which I don't think I have ever said in my life. Hurt syndicate makes even these guys interesting.

(3) Casino Gauntlet Match for Shot at AEW World Title

-Order of entrants: Jay White, Hangman, Wheeler, Ricochet, Adam Cole, Daniel Garcia, Powerhouse Hobbs, Roderick Strong, Lance Archer, Kyle O’Reilly, Jeff Jarrett… Hobbs pins O’Reilly for the win…

-Post Match, Hobbs is interviewed. Hobbs acknowledges Moxley for bringing him into AEW, but says he’s going to take Moxley’s title and make Moxley his bitch!

⭐️Kayhan: Half thumbs up only for Hobbs’ promo after the match. The match itself is just a horrible format for a match. 

⭐️Vlad: Pointless stupid match.

(4) Jeff Jarrett, MJF

-Ian Riccaboni interviews Jeff Jarrett in the ring in the fallout of the Casino Gauntlet, asking what’s next for Double J. As Jarrett speaks he is interrupted by MJF. MJF says he found out Jarrett’s contract is only for a year, and offers to help Jarrett win the World Title if Jarrett gives him the first title shot. Jarrett calls MJF a one hit wonder who decided to scheme instead of entering the Casino Gauntlet. Jarrett forcefully turns down MJFs offer, calling MJF an entitled prick on his way out.

⭐️Kayhan: On one hand, I’m very happy to see a scene with MJF & JJ, since they’re 2 of my all time faves. this segment had some nice old JJ spice. but i do question having MJF work with JJ. At this point in their careers it seems beneath MJF. But maybe something good will come of it. we’ll see. 

⭐️Vlad: 😆 I said let's wait and see what they do with MJF and they gave him working with Jarrett? Oye. I'II wait to see what happens.

(5) Cope, Death Riders, Powerhouse Hobbs

-We are reminded of the last time we saw Darby Allin when he was thrown down a stairwell by Death Riders on the last episode of Rampage.

-Cope cuts an in ring promo addressing what Death Riders have done to Darby and FTR, and puts himself over as relating to Moxley’s criticism of AEW wrestlers. Death Riders come out and violence ensues as FTR fight off with Wheeler and Claudio, leaving Cope alone for Death Riders to beat down and break out the old plastic bag to suffocate Cope with. Powerhouse Hobbs comes down to make the save, as Death Riders respect his power and powder out, the lot of them.

⭐️Kayhan: It’s nice that they made Hobbs look good. I always hope there’ll be decent follow up.

(6) Mariah May, Harley Cameron

-Mariah cuts a promo backstage on next week’s first ever Women’s Casino Gauntlet that will produce Mariah’s next World Title challenger. Harley Cameron enters to challenge Mariah to a non title match on this Saturday’s Collision, which Mariah accepts.

⭐️Kayhan: Harley trying too hard. I would try to make her a more serious character.

-Kris Statlander wins 3-Way against Willow and Toni Storm to earn spot as first entrant into next weeks Casino Gauntlet match. 

-Backstage, Toni Storm is dissapointed in losing tonight’s match but still tries to look forward to next week’s Casino Gauntlet.

⭐️Kayhan: Pointless match between 3 great wrestlers. I’ve made this point before. Not a great benefit to enter a gauntlet match first. 

⭐️Vlad: This looked solid but I didn't care.

(8) Kenny Omega, Don Callis Family, Will Ospreay

-Kenny Omega cuts an in ring promo talking about his difficult path back to health after diverticulitis surgery, and how the fans are his motivation to keep wrestling. He says the “new Kenny Omega” isn’t worried about money or power. Don Callis enters and before he can get more than a sentence out, is attacked by Kenny Omega, who was weary of a Don Callis Family attack. Kenny got some shots in on Callis before Callis is saved by his family. The Don Callis Family proceeds to beat down Omega targeting his recently operated on abdominal region. Omega is then saved by Will Ospreay. The two have a respectful stare down as the show goes off the air.

⭐️Kayhan: I popped for Kenny attacking Callis straight away. That was fun. The Kenny & Ospreay tease, i suppose is for something wayyyy down the line.
