STORYLINES:

*Note: I did not include the year end awards as part of today’s storylines unless they were used as angles and directly affected a storyline…

(1) Kelani Jordan, Lola Vice, Cora Jade, Stephanie Vaquer

-Kelani Jordan defeats Lola Vice. 

-Cora Jade hits the ring post match to attack Kelani Jordan with a lead pipe. Lola tried to stop Cora but got beat down as well. Stephanie Vaquer hit the ring to back up Lola and took Cora’s pipe. Lola arose and attempted an elbow attack on Cora but Cora ducked out the way and Lola nailed Stephanie. Cora talked shit on her way out while Lola sadly checked on her friend. 

-Backstage, Stephanie is angry with Lola who is profusely trying to apologize. Kelani enters and tells them they deserved what happened, enfuriatikt Stephanie & Kelani before officials intervene. Cora is nearby enjoying the drama when Ava comes over and tells her she needs a challenger for the North American Title. Cora is happy about it at first before she finds out it’s a 4-way #1 contender’s match against Kelani, Stephanie & Lola.

⭐️Kayhan: It’s hard to get excited over a promo spoken with no emotion in another language. 

(3) Cedric Alexander, Ethan Page

-Cedric Alexander is asked about his friend Je’Von’s shattered jaw. Ethan Page enters and tells Cedric he’s next. Cedric clocks him and fight ensues through the back and into the arena. A match that was scheduled for later is moved up to right here and now since they’re already in the room fighting. 

-Ethan Page defeats Cedric Alexander and engages in a violent post match attack that includes the smashing of Alexander’s fingers between a toolbox that Page finds under the ring.

⭐️Kayhan: I love how they’re selling Je’Von’s injury. The commentators talking about how Evans spent the holiday’s with his family eating through a straw!😆… Cedric immediately clocking Page was the right thing to do. Ethan Page wins the match and engages in a post match attack on Alexander, breaking Alexander’s fingers with a tool box. Segment ends with Alexander in visible intense pain holding his broken fingers. 

(4) Hank & Tank, Tyson & Tyreke, Wes Lee, Andre Chase

-Hank & Tank air it out with Tyson & Tyreke about recent tensions. Wes Lee enters and Hank & Tank are quite judgemental about Tyson and Tyreke teaming with Wes Lee “after all he’s done.” Wes Lee points out how Hank & Tank are outnumbered 3 to 2. Hank & Tank say they will easily find a partner, but when left alone, lament their chances of finding a partner. 

-Backstage, Hank & Tank are seen pitching the idea of partnering with them to Andre Chase.

-Andre Chase comes out with Hank & Tank to the match but seems completely unenthusiastic and dejected without his University, wearing slacks, but soon got into the swing of it. In the end, Chase gets in a great series of moves and looks to Chase U, but they weren’t there. Chase tags out and leaves dejected. Tyson, Tyreke & Wes pick up the 6-Man Tag Team victory. 

-Kale Dixon runs into Andre Chase backstage and asks when the next semester starts. Chase informs Dixon that Chase U is dead.

⭐️Kayhan: This was kind of a weak way to bring back Andre Chase.

(5) Shawn Spears, Izzi Dame, The Family

-Shawn Spears’ apparent attempt to recruit Hank & Tank and Tyson & Tyreke is shot down by Wes Lee, saying that Tyson & Tyreke don’t need him. Spears seems to get some kind of cosmic enlightenment right at that very moment, and wanders off. 

-Later, Shawn Spears is seen watching Izzi Dame’s match from the audience. 

-Shawn Spears catches up with Izzi Dame in the back and tries to praise her performance but Izzi tells him to leave her alone. The Family shows up and D’Angelo tells Spears to leave Izzi alone. Spears gets in a barb that cuts deep, leaving D’Angelo pissed.

⭐️Kayhan: This is weird and creepy. The worst possible stereotypical use of Shawn Spears. 

(6) Shotzi, Gigi, Tatum, Katana, Kayden, Meta4, Fatal Influence

-Fatal Influence get involved in triple threat match to cost Gigi & Shotzi. Meta4 win 3-way tag match also involving Katana & Kayden.

⭐️Kayhan: Fatal Influence costing Gigi and Shotzi. The interference spot looked good. Advances the feud. 1/2 👍

(7) Unholy Union, Meta 4

-Unholy Union appear on the big screen & sarcastically congratulate Meta4 on their interference filled tag team triple threat victory. Unholy Union stake claim to tag title shots.

⭐️Kayhan: I guess they running Women’s Tag Title programs from any show. that’s cool. 

(8) Lexis King, Charlie Dempsey, William Regal, Ava

-Ava books a rematch between Lexis King & Charlie Dempsey for the Heritage Cup, taking into account controversial nature of the title change. This time it will be sudden death. King feels he won fair and square and doesn’t want to do the rematch. Regal promises Ava he won’t get involved this time.

-Fraxiom were awarded NXT Tag Team of the Year by WWE. While accepting the award, OTM step up to the champions and let Fraxiom know they’re coming after those titles!

⭐️Kayhan: Didnt have a problem with OTM’s promo, but it wasn’t anything intense or out of this world. 

(10) Zaria, Sol Ruca, Izzy Dame

-Backstage, Zaria & Sol Ruca rue their recent tag team loss. 

-Zaria tries to support Sol Ruca at ringside during Sol’s match against Izzy Dame, but eats a moonsault by accident, leading to Ruca losing. Zaria and Ruca have bad chemistry as friends.

⭐️Kayhan: What happened to Zaria? I thought she was supposed to be like a bad ass when she came in. 

(11) Ashonte Thee Adonis, Nikkita

-Backstage, Ashonte is trying to call Karmen but she doesn’t answer. Nikkita comes along and invites Ashonte to a party but he says if he can’t spend the holiday’s with Karmen then he’ll spend it alone. Nikkita tells Ashonte she thought he was a player, and walks off. Alone, Ashonte comes to the realization that he’s not a player.

⭐️Kayhan: Ashonte is surprised to learn that he’s not a player. 😵‍💫 And what’s up with Nikkita? She’ll take sloppy seconds, I guess. 

(12) Oba Femi, Trick Williams, Eddie Thorpe

-Oba Femi interrupted the presentation for NXT Make Superstar of the Year to cut a promo, saying it doesn’t matter who the fans think is the Superstar of the Year. Trick interrupts to retort. Eddie Thorpe comes from behind and hits Oba who runs into Trick. Thorpe smashes the Superstar of the Year Trophy over Oba Femi’s head and stands tall with the NXT Title belt to end the show.
